Often called the "fastest game on two feet", lacrosse is a sport involoving great skill, foot and hand speed, stamina, and physical body contact. It is also the oldest known team sport played in North America, and is closely derived from the Navtive American game of "baggataway"; literlly translated means "little brother of war".
The season runs from late February through mid-May.
Players are responsible for their own shoes (cleats), and should have their own stick. A limited number of sticks are available for beginning players.
