Softball is open to all Yorktown girls who show enthusiasm and commitment to the sport.  Yorktown has Varsity and Junior Varsity teams. Eighth graders may join the Junior Varsity team.  Tryouts begin in late February. Cuts are made on the basis of ability, effort, and space limitations.  Practices are held every day after school from March through May. Uniforms are provided, however, players must provide their own glove and shoes.  The teams do some fund raising.
